I hope someone picks up one idea from my projects. If they do, it will mean that the website works. You may have better ideas and I really want to hear them. Please leave comments so I can also learn new ways of doing something.. Thanks for checking out my web site...

Sliding cabinet doors

Well, I was sitting in the Man Cave looking at my shelves that store my reloading equipment and decided they look cluttered. I came up with the idea of sliding doors, not realizing that this project would absolutely test my skills. I wanted to do it cheap so I only bought the aluminum rails on the bottom and one sheet of 1/4 inch plywood with one good side.

Cutting the grooves required to let the doors slide freely without touching each other was a trick. I did this on my small table saw. It came out pretty good.

The rest of the pictures are pretty much self explanatory.

Meat processing, my Wife, Mother and Myself did last month...

We made 30lbs of Kielbasa, 40 lbs of Salami, 30 lbs of Hunters snack sticks and 30 lbs of Jerky from the Elk and Deer we harvested this year....

Computer table refinish

I refinished my computer table last week and it turned out real nice.

When I was done, I decided to refinish the other table that goes with my computer table, a little different. I had to see if I had any hidden talents, so I attempted to do some wood burning on it before the stain and varnish.
It didn't come out to bad. I will take more pictures when the stain and varnish have been applied..

OK, I just got done (the next day) with the stain and one coat of varnish..

Tree removal

This was a huge willow tree that threatened ruining my roof on the west side of my house. It had to be removed because the base was not stable and I was afraid it would fall on my home.

New Update

Side view of new tongue
The axle went in great. I used a floor jack to lift into place.
I eliminated the U-bolts holding the axles in and went to a steel plate with grade 8 steel bolts..

The tilt part of the trailer was a challenge. The old bolts had worn an oval shape in the frame. I ended up taking a 1" hole saw and cut a 1" hole where the old bolt had gone. I then took a file and reamed the hole out a little bit, just enough to accommodate a piece of 1" pipe. I pushed the pipe through the frame and welded it in solid on both sides. I then cut the excess pipe off with a sawzall. I dug around my garage and found a couple of bronze bushings with a 1/2" center and installed them on both ends of the 1" pipe. I went to the local hardware store and bought 2 grade 8 steel bolts. The bolts went through the cradle that hinges and also through the 2 bronze bushings I put in the ends of the 1" pipe. I welded the heads of the bolts to the tilting cradle and now they rotate inside the bronze bushings, reducing maintenance on this item in the future.

This is the fender that was mangled. I replaced the whole side of it and added lots of support.

The new tongue welded on.
 The new hitch..
